POSITION SUMMARY
The Die Shop Coordinator supports the Die Shop Manager with the daily operations of the die shop in an aluminum extrusion facility. This role focuses on coordinating die flow, maintaining accurate records, supporting purchasing, and ensuring clear communication between departments to keep production running smoothly.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • You’ll be right in the middle of the die shop, supporting day to day operations and making sure nothing slows production down.
  • You’ll track die movement from the moment it comes in, through production, repair, and back into use. If a die isn’t ready when it should be, you’ll catch it early and fix the issue before it becomes a problem.
  • You’ll own the data. That means keeping accurate records on die history, repairs, timelines, and costs. You’ll stay on top of die condition, flag anything that needs repair or replacement, and help drive decisions that improve uptime and control costs.
  • You’ll also support purchasing for new dies, repairs, and shop supplies, while keeping inventory organized and easy to track. No guesswork, everything has a place and is easy to find.
  • On the technical side, you’ll update logs, manage databases, and work with AutoCAD drawings and related files. You’ll work closely with internal teams and suppliers to solve design, manufacturing, or timing issues, and support new die trials and improvement initiatives.
  • You’ll keep communication tight. If something is going to impact production, people will hear it from you early.
  • You’ll also support reporting, audits, and standard work, while handling the day to day admin work that keeps everything running smoothly.
  • At the end of the day, your job is simple. Keep the die shop organized, informed, and running without surprises.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
WHO YOU ARE
You’ve got a post-secondary education in a related field and hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment. You’re comfortable working with technical information, whether that’s tooling, dies, or drawings, and you know your way around Microsoft Office without thinking twice.

You’re detail-oriented and take pride in getting things right the first time. Managing large amounts of information doesn’t throw you off, you stay organized and keep things moving. You’re just as comfortable working independently as you are collaborating with different teams across the plant.

You bring strong communication skills, solid computer experience, and a high level of accuracy in your work. If you’ve worked with AutoCAD or can read blueprints, even better.

Most importantly, you don’t wait to be told what to do. You take initiative, solve problems, and make decisions that keep things on track.
