POSITION SUMMARY We're looking for a dedicated Saw Operator who thrives on accuracy and takes pride in producing top-quality products. In this role, you'll ensure materials are cut to the exact lengths required for customer orders while maintaining strict quality standards. Your expertise and commitment will help us deliver exceptional products that exceed customer expectations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and adjust as needed
Manage the saw controls and ensure that accurate cut lengths are set per the work order
Ensure that quality requirements are met and understand the relationship between cut speed and cut quality
Understand the difference between types of alloys and tempers, and ensure that they are separated properly on different racks
Inspect finished products for defects and ensure that all parts meet quality standards
Able to distinguish between defects such as die lines, flatness defects, off-square products, etc.
Assist in other areas on the line, such as packing, as needed
Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
Must be able to read and write in English
Experience with EPICS is an asset
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks
Must have basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
Good problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets
Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship is required.
COMPENSATION Pay Rate: $23.80- $26.62 Eligible for overtime (as applicable)
WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
Plant Environment
Twelve hour rotating continental shift
Exposure to loud noise and heat
May be required to lift up to 50lbs
Overtime as needed
