About the role
Can Art Aluminum is a privately owned North American manufacturer specializing in standard and custom aluminum extrusion profiles. Since 1988, we’ve grown from a single press operation into a multi-plant organization supporting Tier 1 automotive and industrial customers across North America.

Our reputation is built on quality, reliability, and continuous investment in our operations. From our IATF 16949-certified Windsor facility to our expanded capabilities, including a modern anodizing operation in Mississauga, we continue to scale to meet customer demand.

As we grow, we’re focused on strengthening our machining and fabrication capabilities. We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who can take ownership of these processes and drive performance across quality, cost, and delivery.

What you'll do
  • Lead the development, validation, and optimization of machining and fabrication processes
  • Drive new equipment, tooling, fixtures, and gauges from concept through launch and handoff to operations
  • Own process documentation, including flow diagrams, work instructions, and specifications
  • Establish and maintain process parameters to hit quality and cycle time targets
  • Support new product launches through APQP and PPAP
  • Lead or contribute to PFMEA, control plans, MSA, and capability studies
  • Coordinate production trials, validation, and final PPAP submissions
  • Troubleshoot machining, fabrication, and assembly issues
  • Partner with production, quality, and maintenance to improve uptime and reliability
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, throughput, and cost
  • Implement lean tools such as 5S, SMED, and error-proofing
  • Use data (SPC, Pareto, time studies) to prioritize and drive improvements
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements
  • Support audits and maintain strong process and safety standards

The skills you bring
  • Strong experience in CNC machining and fabrication processes including cutting, drilling, punching, and bending
  • Solid understanding of GD&T, SPC, APQP, PFMEA, MSA, and PPAP
  • Experience with CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Mastercam
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues, solve problems, and drive improvements
  • Strong project management and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience in aluminum extrusion fabrication; exposure to both automotive and non-automotive applications is an asset
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is an asset

What’s important to us
  • You take ownership and follow through
  • You don’t wait to be told what to fix, you go find it
  • You’re comfortable in a plant environment and can adapt to changing priorities
  • You focus on results, not just activity
  • You work well with others and know how to get things done across teams
